Maja Nicholson (BG 01–08) and Christian Nicholson (BG 97–06, T 06–11) recently undertook impressive physical challenges in support of Brain Research UK, raising nearly £12,000 for the charity.
Christian joined friend Hugo over the Easter weekend to kayak 125 miles from Devizes to Westminster. The four-day challenge saw them paddling for up to seven and a half hours each day, finishing an impressive sixth in their class. Remarkably, the pair had no previous kayaking experience, with reports that they spent much of their first training session last November hauling themselves out of the Thames and back into the boat!
Meanwhile, Maja took on the London Marathon despite carrying an injury that had prevented her from running for six weeks in the lead-up to the race. Determined to complete the 26.2-mile course, she was buoyed by the extraordinary support of the 750,000-strong crowd lining the streets of the capital.
Together, Maja and Christian raised significant funds for Brain Research UK, a charity dedicated to advancing research into a wide range of neurological conditions. A cause close to both of their hearts.
Huge congratulations to both from all of us within the Rugbeian Community.
